Every Experience on the Physical Plane Expands Your Essence

Just as your essence is an expansion of the Tao (highest plane of spiritual existence), your personality is an expansion of your essence.
We are paradoxes; our bodies, our wholeness is the complete vehicle that we were given at birth, yet our essence is constantly growing, learning and expanding so we are never truly 'whole'.

The essence becomes bored when there is little growth occurring. Sometimes the essence will generate a traumatic event to jar the personality loose, because that is the only way to get through. On Earth today, people insist on growing through pain, however, it feels much better to grow through joy than pain.
Essence and personality are two aspects of you. Neither should dominate. If you are “blissed out” on your essence to the point where you are not experiencing your personality, you may as well go back to the astral plane. But if you are experiencing only your personality, you have forgotten what the game is about. Your conscious awareness, if properly placed, is not fully at the level of personality, yet not fully at the level of essence. It partakes of both.

Detecting Soul Age- Overview

 You've heard people say that "so-and-so is an "old soul"", what does that mean though? It's much different than you may think, actually!

Soul age is referring to how a person has grown from experience on the planet, not just to how many lifetimes he or she has lived.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To try and detect someones soul age you "start with someone who seems to be mostly in his true personality."
Now, if someone is living with trauma or mental illness, you tend to see the trauma or illness rather than the true personality. This does not effect what age their soul is because the aforementioned trauma or mental illness is part of their life path and they will deal with this in the appropriate way for them.
Infant, young, and old souls are more individualistic.
Whereas baby and mature souls are more community oriented.
A good question to ask yourself when examining is: Does the person put greater emphasis on community or societal issues, or is she marching to her own drumbeat?
You can ask if the person is more outwardly focused (meaning they are in the infant, baby, and young group) or more internally focused (mature and old). You might then get the soul age by process of elimination.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is a chart that is basically stereotypes of the positives and negatives of the soul ages. It can help you identify where someone is on their journey.

It's IMPORTANT to remember that negative traits, though easy to spot, do NOT lock someone into a particular age range, you need to factor in their positive traits as well which can give you more insight into how they behave and strive toward their goals!

 INFANT: Survival/Existing - Me, not me
+ innocent openness
– terrified aversion

BABY:  Structure/Organizing, Arranging - Me, other me's
+ formation and structuring
– rigidity

YOUNG: Success/Doing - Me, you
+ worthwhile accomplishment
– self-centeredness

MATURE: Relationships/Perceiving - You, as you perceive yourself
+ resonant perception
– subjective perception
**24% are mature

OLD: Context/Being - You, as part of something greater
+ inclusiveness
– undirected
**11% of humans are old

TRANSCENDENTAL: Social revolution - Synthesis

INFINITE: Spiritual revolution - Tao

Only a small minority of people, even among old souls, are seeking to consciously awaken.  Luckily for many, a soul can complete the physical plane without ever being spiritually conscious, just as one can complete college without being smart. Even if you never practice trying to find out someones soul age, it's a nice tool to have in your chest if for nothing more than greater understanding and patience for others around you.

Soul Age

There are 5 stages of which a soul can be manifesting itself as.
Below are explanations of the different ages.
Click on the names for an in depth explanation!

Infant souls deal with issues of survival; they do not yet have a basis for making sense of what is “out there”—they only know that it is “not me.”

Baby souls have a need for structure and tend to live according to beliefs based on dogma, such as religion. Baby souls, focused as they are on bringing people together under the umbrella of civilization, see others, sometimes simplistically, as being “just like me.” They can become confused and upset when those “other me’s” act differently than expected.

Young souls are success oriented and set high standards of personal achievement. Young souls are learning to impact the world, and see others as “you”s they can impact.

Mature souls are relationship fixated and tend to gravitate towards emotional drama. Mature souls, delving into their inner world and exploring relatedness, can keenly feel other people’s “stuff,” and perceive it in the same way they perceive their own. This can make for much intensity and, often, subjectivity.

Old souls seek the larger perspective of life, and have less interest in playing the material game. They tend to be more detached, and try to see themselves and others within a larger context.

Role Personality-Michael Teachings

You may associate yourself as being in an artisan role, which usually is complimentary with the Sage role which is someone who wants to communicate the higher mental facilities such as Love, Wisdom,  Harmony and Philosophy.

You would be taking on an Expressive role -one who brings the inner world into the outer.

Try and find the personality role that best suits you!

The Michael Teachings

This is a great website I stumbled upon when searching for more information on the soul age:

Check out the links on the right side for much more information. Some of my favorites are:

About Me

I want to share with others who have the same passion as I do for soul searching and spiritual enlightenment to continue their journey with me.

When I read something that confirms the ideas and perspectives an incredibly powerful feeling brings me closer spiritual connectivity from the universe. I connect deeply with a few time periods that have similar ideological concepts or aesthetics that I desperately try and explore further as if I'm searching for information I left behind some time ago, such as:

 The Dark Ages (300-900)
The Viking Age (793-1066)
Romantic (1770-1850)

 I will have a large focus on these periods and the works that came from them; and modern work as well, of course.

 I take pleasure from experiencing spiritual phenomenon as well as exploring spirit through many different mediums such as literature, art, etc, as so many have before me. I want to pass on and promote those feelings in order to provide others with a route for further self exploration and creativity. I believe I have been repeatedly put on this earth in order to touch people's souls in any way that would make the world a little happier, a little more connected and hopefully less ignorant. So in this lifetime where there is an abundance of expansive technology, this is an opportunity I would be remiss to pass up.

This blog is by no means a documentation of superiority or anything of that nature, I encourage anyone to contribute their knowledge, experiences, art, etc. as a way to lift all of our spiritual energies to a higher plane of consciousness.

Thank you!

and remember:   It's a beautiful life, learn all you can while you are here!
